Sharmila Phuyal Unveils Manifesto for Kathmandu-7 Independent Candidacy

Kathmandu: Sharmila Phuyal, an independent candidate for Kathmandu Constituency No. 7 in the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, has released her election manifesto.

Publicizing the manifesto during a program organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday, she expressed her commitment to contributing uninterruptedly to the economic, social, cultural, geographical, and human sustainable environmental development of Nepal, placing the motherland and the nation's soil above herself.

The manifesto states, "I pledge that I will remain committed to contributing uninterruptedly to the economic, social, cultural, geographical, and human sustainable environmental development of Nepal, placing our motherland and the soil of our country above my own self. I am committed to assuming dynamic and visionary leadership to ensure national unity, harmony, brotherhood, and prosperity while preventing any interference with the nationality, sovereignty, geographical integrity, peace, and security of our country, Nepal."

She expressed her commitment to raise her voice and eliminate existing corruption, discrimination, superstition, maladministration, anomalies, violence, atrocities, geopolitical crises, oppression, and anarchy for the economic and social development and welfare of Nepali citizens. 

She pledged to maintain high awareness, responsiveness, and civilization to build an ethical, responsible, humanly sensitive, transformative, dynamic, and energetic society. She further stated her readiness to maintain integrity-based politics, good governance, austerity, and dignity under any circumstances while prioritizing and continuously working on specific agendas.

She has resolved to eliminate corruption, discrimination, and anarchy while raising her voice against geopolitical crises and oppression for the welfare of Nepali citizens. Additionally, she stated that she has brought forward various agendas with the goal of building an ethical and responsible society by maintaining good governance and dignified politics.

The manifesto prioritizes health, education, and the resolution of local issues. Proposals include free mobile health check-up services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, making health insurance effective, and bringing uniformity to the fees and quality of hospital services.

In education, she committed to implementing a "study while working" system to minimize youth migration, making practical and skill-based education compulsory in schools, and ending political interference in teacher appointments.

Furthermore, the manifesto mentions initiating legal amendments to ensure the drinking water and development rights of local residents in the buffer zone of the Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park.
