Shahi’s Strong Message: “Our Protest is Not Against Ethnic Groups, But Against Those Betraying the Nation”

Kathmandu – Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Gyanendra Shahi has issued a strong message through social media, criticizing divisive ethnic narratives and NGO-driven agendas. He emphasized that their movement is not against indigenous or ethnic communities, but against those acting as agents of foreign interests and engaging in activities that harm the nation.
“Our party president Rajendra Lingden, as well as national figures like Mahabir Pun and Kulman Ghising, are widely respected. Are they not from indigenous communities?” Shahi wrote. “We have chosen a son of an indigenous group as our leader and we proudly stand behind him.”
Shahi clearly stated that the opposition is not against ethnicity or identity but directed at those who, under the guise of such issues, are creating chaos and acting against national interests.
“The protest is not against any ethnic group – it is against those who become agents of foreign powers, create unrest, and commit treason,” he added.
Taking a jab at what he calls the “NGO-influenced mindset,” Shahi said, “Your worldview is clouded by the toxic ideology of donor-driven ethnic divisions. Take off those lenses and look around – you’ll see a Nepal where all ethnicities, religions, and professions live together in harmony.”
