Shahi Denies 'Foreign Agent' Claim: "If you call for the thief's leg to be cut, don't hide your own."

Kathmandu – Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Gyanendra Shahi has used his official Facebook page to issue a strong rebuttal to recent media reports, clarifying that he has not named any specific individual as a "foreign agent."

In his post, he stressed the principle of accountability, stating, "I have not named anyone as a foreign agent, but one should not display the tendency to hide one's own leg when you call for the thief's leg to be cut." This comment appears to address individuals who may have felt implicated by his general remarks.

Shahi also issued a passionate appeal for national unity and vigilance against anti-national activities. "We must remember that this nation was acquired and preserved by the blood sacrifice of your and our ancestors against the British, the Tibetans, and the Mughals," he wrote.

He further warned against complacency, stating, "Therefore, it is the duty of all of us to prevent an act of treason and to save the nation from becoming like Ukraine."

Addressing the political representation from his home region of Karnali, Shahi expressed his full acceptance and support for any person from Karnali becoming a minister. However, he attached a crucial condition to his support.

"Whoever becomes a minister from Karnali, I have my acceptance and complete support," he said, "but there must be a guarantee that the person becoming the minister will work in the best interest of this country."
