Confusion Over Senior Justice in Supreme Court

Following Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma's assumption of office as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, confusion has arisen regarding who will be the next senior justice after him. 

Although there has been a tradition of appointing the Chief Justice based on seniority, this question arose after the Constitutional Council recommended Sharma, who was fourth in the hierarchy, this time.

Immediately after Sharma took charge, the Judicial Council placed Sapana Pradhan Malla's name as the most senior justice on its website, but the name was removed the very next day. 

According to Kuber Pandey, the information officer of the Judicial Council, the name of the senior justice will be reposted only after clear information regarding this matter is received from the Chief Justice.
