Security Forces Deployed Across Districts: Polling Station Security Tightened
A large number of security personnel have departed from the Kathmandu Valley for various districts to provide security for the upcoming elections. For the House of Representatives member election scheduled for March 5, a significant number of police officers have been mobilized from the Kathmandu Valley to different districts.
Police Headquarters has deployed additional police personnel to all eight districts of Madhesh Province, Jhapa, Morang, and Sunsari in Koshi Province, and Kailali and Kanchanpur in Sudurpashchim Province, as well as other districts with a higher number of electoral constituencies. Approximately 13,000 police personnel from the Kathmandu Valley will reach their assigned areas by Falgun 12.
Since junior officers must be deployed at every polling station, additional teams have been sent to these districts in large numbers. Officers ranging from Police Constables to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) have been deployed to those regions from various units within the Kathmandu Valley.
