Indian Border Points in Sarlahi to be Closed for Three Days
Godaita (Sarlahi). Indian border points in Sarlahi are to be closed for three days. The border points will be shut down targeting the House of Representatives member election scheduled for March 5 (Falgun 21).
A meeting of the District Security Committee held on Wednesday decided to close the Nepal-India international border with the objective of completing the election in a safe and organized manner.
According to the District Administration Office Sarlahi, movement through the border points will be completely prohibited from midnight on March 2 (Falgun 18) until midnight on March 5 (Falgun 21). It is mentioned that during this period, all activities except for essential services and those coordinated by security agencies will be strictly restricted.
The Chief District Officer of Sarlahi, Ramu Raj Kadariya, informed that special monitoring will be increased in the border areas to control potential undesirable activities and to strengthen peace and security during the election. According to him, security agencies will be kept on high alert during that time.
