Lekhnath Paudel Appointed to RSP’s Discipline Commission
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has appointed Lekhnath Paudel to the party's Discipline Commission.
A central committee meeting held on Wednesday made this decision. Since the party's statute mandates that the Election Commission, Accounts Commission, and Discipline Commission cannot be left vacant, the party decided to retain the old teams for the Election and Accounts commissions while appointing Paudel to head the Discipline Commission.
Joint General Secretary Hari Dhakal shared that this decision was taken because, according to the party constitution, all three commissions must be formed right from the very first meeting.
"According to our statute, the Election Commission, Accounts Commission, and Discipline Commission cannot remain vacant from the first meeting onward. Therefore, we have entrusted the old team with the responsibilities of the Election and Accounts commissions and appointed Lekhnath Paudel to the Discipline Commission," Dhakal said.
According to Dhakal, the meeting also passed a resolution expressing gratitude to various sub-committees, security agencies, media personnel, and all supporters who worked to make the recently concluded general convention a success.
Meanwhile, the central committee meeting has delegated the responsibility of nominating the remaining office bearers and central committee members to Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
Joint General Secretary Nisha Dangi confirmed that the party has handed over the authority to fill the vacant positions to Chairman Lamichhane.
"We have all entrusted the party chairman with the responsibility of nominating the remaining central committee members. He will make the nominations gradually," she said.
