RSP Leader Ganesh Karki Attributes 'Gen Z Rebellion' to Years of Misgovernance
Kathmandu: Ganesh Karki, a Central Committee Member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), asserted that the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 are a direct consequence of years of misgovernance and poor rule.
Speaking at the "National Interest Paramount Conference 2082" on the topic "The Roots of the Gen Z Rebellion," Karki said that the syndicate of misrule and power-holders had created a barrel of gunpowder, and recent issues like "nepo babies" and social media bans merely acted as the spark. He stated that the entire event stems from a lack of good governance.
Karki criticized the government for only responding to a "rebellion" of this scale, suggesting that any smaller revolt would have been ignored. He accused the government of trying to deflect blame following the Bhadra 23 incident.
Concerning political collaboration, he called for like-minded parties to unite, stressing that the key focus should be how to move forward together rather than who holds a senior position.
He also noted that the formation of a government by the two largest parties, except in times of extreme crisis, was an unprecedented move in a democracy and was a factor in "producing the gunpowder."
