RPP Candidates Identify NWPP as Main Competitor in Bhaktapur

The candidates of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) in Bhaktapur have stated that their primary competition in the district will be with the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP). During a press conference held in Bhaktapur on Saturday, both candidates claimed they would compete against NWPP candidates in Bhaktapur, which is considered a stronghold of that party.

At the press conference, Advocate Bikram Thapa, the candidate for Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2, claimed that while it might be uncertain for Constituency No. 1, they would secure a victory in Constituency No. 2. He noted that the competition in Constituency No. 2 would also be with the NWPP.

He stated that the votes for the Congress and UML are certain to decrease compared to before, adding that the National Independent Party (RSP) would cut into their votes, leading to his victory. He claimed he would emerge victorious amidst a three-way tug-of-war after the RSP takes votes from Congress and UML, noting that the NWPP’s ideological vote remains stable.

In a different context, he expressed that changing the system is necessary to change the current situation. He stated that the monarchy is necessary and also demanded the dismissal of federalism. He mentioned that their candidacy aims to establish good governance. He challenged candidates from other parties to go to a temple and pledge not to take bribes, stating that taking a bribe is equivalent to drinking one's mother's blood.

During the press conference, it was stated that the RPP has moved forward with the political philosophy of a Hindu nation including the monarchy, the dismissal of federalism, and the concept of a strong local government. According to the party, these agendas are indispensable for leading the country toward stability while protecting national unity, cultural identity, religion, tradition, and good governance.

The press conference also presented the party's clear perspective on the current political situation, the need for constitutional reform, corruption control, national sovereignty, economic self-reliance, job creation, and empowering local levels.

The event was organized by supporters of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Ward No. 3. According to the organizers, this program aims to strengthen the party's base at the local level and expand direct relations with the people.

Earlier, the program began with a worship ceremony. Both candidates for Bhaktapur Constituencies 1 and 2 started their campaign after performing a puja at the Kushal Bhairab Temple located in Kaushaltar, Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2.

They began their publicity by pledging not to take bribes, stating that doing so is like drinking their mother's blood. Bharat Bahadur Khadka has filed his candidacy for Bhaktapur Constituency No. 1, while Advocate Bikram Thapa is the candidate for Constituency No. 2.

Following the puja, a rally was held to solicit votes. A massive election rally started from the temple premises and reached the publicity contact office, where the press conference was subsequently held.
