RPP General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Calls for Immediate Meeting to Rectify Unilateral Decisions

Kathmandu — Dr. Dhawal Shamsher Rana, General Secretary of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has expressed serious concern over recent unilateral decisions and disciplinary actions within the party. In a letter addressed to the party president, he has urged the immediate convening of the Central Executive Committee meeting to resolve ongoing issues.

In his letter dated Shrawan 18, Dr. Rana acknowledged that local-level conventions are underway as part of preparations for the timely completion of the central convention. However, he condemned the arbitrary disciplinary actions and expulsions of party leaders, which violate party rules and democratic principles. He emphasized the need to correct such mistakes in adherence to the party constitution and democratic norms.

Dr. Rana also expressed concern over the physical assault on party youth leader and journalist Raju Gaire by the party president’s personal secretary, Chhatra Khadayat. He noted that this incident has caused widespread worry among party members and well-wishers nationwide.

Regarding the appointment of central observers for district conventions, Dr. Rana criticized the unilateral selection of observers without consulting the Executive Committee, calling the move improper and against democratic procedures. He pointed out that even members of the Central Election Committee were included in a flawed observer list and called for rectifying these procedural errors.

Reaffirming his belief in a fair, respectful, and inclusive convention process, Dr. Rana urged the party leadership to immediately convene the Executive Committee meeting to address and resolve these pressing problems.
