RPP Chairman’s Secretary Assaults Young Leader and Journalist Raju Gaire

Kathmandu:
The faction led by Rajendra Lingden in the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has reportedly resorted to hooliganism. On Wednesday, Chhatra Khadayat, the personal secretary to RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden, physically assaulted young leader and journalist Raju Gaire.
It is said that the incident occurred under Lingden’s direct orders. Khadayat threatened Gaire, saying, "You made a photo of the chairman, the chairman has ordered to beat you. I will kill you."
Following the incident, the victim Gaire filed a complaint at the Maharajgunj police station, demanding strict legal action against Khadayat.
Gaire is a journalist associated with Stars Khabar. He has been active in RPP since his student days and was a candidate representing RPP in the recent provincial assembly elections from Palpa. The young leader, who contested under the "plow" symbol, secured a respectable number of votes.
On Wednesday evening around 6:30 PM, while sitting and drinking tea with friends near the RPP central office in Dhumbahari, Gaire was called over and suddenly attacked by Khadayat using a bullet motorcycle helmet. Khadayat arrived on a motorcycle and launched the unprovoked attack in front of the Chhapro restaurant adjacent to the party office.
Party leaders describe Gaire as a popular, friendly, and helpful young leader well-regarded in society.
