Resignations of Mahabir Pun, Jagadish Kharel, and Bablu Gupta Accepted by President

President Ram Chandra Paudel has accepted the resignations of Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Mahabir Pun, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, and Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta, upon the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, the portfolios previously held by them have been assigned to be temporarily handled by Prime Minister Karki.

According to Ritesh Kumar Shakya, spokesperson for the Office of the President, this decision aims to ensure the smooth functioning of the Council of Ministers' responsibilities under the leadership of the Prime Minister, in accordance with the Constitution.

It is mentioned that the resignation process was completed on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 (Magh 6, 2082 BS), and the necessary legal procedures in this regard have been fulfilled.
