Strong Warning from Federal Republican Alliance Against Increasing Attacks on Religious Minorities and State Inaction

The Federal Republican Alliance has submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Home Affairs to express deep concern over the rising attacks on religious minorities and the declining state of peace and security in Nepal.

Representing a coalition that includes the Nepal Federal Socialist Party, Bahujan Ekata Party, and Nepal Janajagriti Party, the group issued a stern warning against the weak role currently played by the state.

The delegation was led by the Alliance Coordinator and former Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mohammed Rizwan Ansari, and included several high-ranking leaders such as former Madhesh Province Minister Bimala Ansari and other central committee members.

The memorandum highlights that extremist and criminal groups are intentionally targeting minority communities to break social harmony.

These actions are viewed not merely as crimes but as part of a larger conspiracy to create political instability and weaken the country’s republican system. A major point of concern mentioned is the incident on January 4, 2026, in Kamala Municipality-6 of Dhanusha district.

During this event, a group forcibly entered a mosque, burned the Holy Quran, destroyed Islamic texts, and damaged local property. The Alliance views this as a direct violation of the religious freedom and security guaranteed by the Constitution.

Furthermore, the Alliance criticized the government for failing to arrest the main planners and culprits, which raises serious questions about the state's administrative ability.

With the upcoming elections scheduled for March 5, the memorandum asks whether a fair and safe election is even possible under such unstable conditions. The group warned that if peace and security are not restored immediately, the democratic process itself could be at risk.

In conclusion, the Federal Republican Alliance has demanded an impartial investigation into the Dhanusha incident, strict punishment for those responsible, and a special security strategy to protect minority communities.

While they hope the government will take these demands seriously, they clearly stated that they are prepared to start a powerful political protest if the state continues to ignore these issues.sanghiya-gathabandhan2-1767594012.jpg
