Home Minister Urges Religious Harmony and Social Unity
Kathmandu. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal has urged everyone to maintain peace, harmony, and law and order in the society, and to refrain from any behavior or hate speech that could spread religious animosity in the multicultural and multi-ethnic country.
During a discussion with civil society leaders at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, Minister Aryal requested citizens to remain vigilant against religious hatred and misleading news or information spread through social media, and to maintain social and religious tolerance in the society.
In the meeting, Minister Aryal expressed that civil society plays a significant role in countering various types of religious extremism and ideologies currently being spread through social media, and in maintaining peace, harmony, and order.
During the discussion, Minister Aryal also expressed a commitment that the government and civil society would work hand in hand to control activities that disrupt mutual harmony and offend each other's religions.
