'Release the Man I Jailed!': Rajeev Khatri Slams Oli’s Double Standards
Kathmandu: Journalist Rajeev Khatri has severely satirized the arrest of activist Durga Prasai and the directive for his release given by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Khatri questioned Oli's double standards, harshly criticizing the demand to "release immediately!" a person Oli himself jailed while he was Prime Minister, asking mockingly, "Which publisher has printed the book of his political principle?!"
Khatri also took a jibe at the role of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki. He commented that Karki, who previously flexed her muscles when Rabi Lamichhane was arrested at night, is the same person who had Prasai arrested at night now, thereby raising questions about judicial ethics.
He criticized Oli's renewed demand for Prasai's release and the cadres who follow his lead, calling them "lackeys in the wake of the 'Ba' (Father/Leader)."
Khatri's reaction exposes the opportunistic stances seen in Nepali politics and the tendency of cadres to change their narrative along with the change in leadership.
