Rebel Candidacy by RSP's JB Gupta in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3
Jit Bahadur (JB) Gupta of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has filed a rebel candidacy in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3.
Gupta, who contested from the RSP in this same constituency during the 2022 elections, filed his candidacy as an independent after the party gave the ticket to Dr. Lekhjung Thapa this time.
Gupta stated that he protected the party's reputation by running when the organization was weak and had no supporters, but now that the organization is established, the party has pushed him aside.
He mentioned that in the past, he sacrificed his profession and family time to expand the party's organization, but now that the party has grown strong, many faces have appeared seeking opportunities.
He alleged that those with money and influence get opportunities, and the party did not trust him as a candidate because he lacks both.
"The one who planted the seeds has been cast into the desert; my only crime is that I had no money or influence, but I have come to the people's court for justice," he wrote on social media.
