Ramkumari Jhakri: Unity with CPN (UML) Better Than With Maoist Centre
Kathmandu. Ramkumari Jhakri, a leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has stated that merging the party with the CPN (UML) would be a better option than uniting with the CPN (Maoist Centre).
She expressed the view that unity with the UML would be better for a large section of the people within the socialist movement.
"The UML is the party we built," she said. "Since we did everything there, spent a lot of important time of our lives there, and did all the work of that movement, party formation, and reorganization, unity with the UML is better in a personal sense, as it is easier and more comfortable."
Jhakri's statement signals that there may be differing opinions within the Unified Socialist party regarding the direction of future unity efforts.
