Former Karnali Chief Minister Rajkumar Sharma Expelled from Party

According to Krishna Bahadur GC, the Chief Whip of the party's Karnali Provincial Assembly parliamentary party, a letter regarding the action taken against Sharma was sent to the Karnali Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday. Sharma, who was elected from Rukum West in the 2079 provincial assembly elections, also serves as the Karnali Province In-charge of the Progressive Democratic Party led by Janardhan Sharma.
Chief Whip GC stated that it was determined Sharma deliberately acted against the party's policies, principles, objectives, and conduct. Consequently, in accordance with the party constitution and the Karnali Province Parliamentary Party Statute 2082, he has been removed from all responsibilities, including the central committee, and expelled from general membership.
He further explained that according to Section 32, Sub-sections (2) and (5) of the Political Parties Act, 2073, there is a legal provision that an individual expelled from party membership cannot remain a member of the Provincial Assembly. Therefore, the Secretariat has been informed to proceed with the necessary process to vacate Sharma's seat in the Provincial Assembly.
