UML Leader Rajendra Gautam Withdraws Deputy General Secretary Candidacy
Kathmandu, December 16: Leader Rajendra Gautam, who had filed his candidacy for the post of Deputy General Secretary at the 11th National General Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), has withdrawn his nomination.
Gautam, who also serves as the Chief of the UML's Publicity Department, issued a press statement today announcing the withdrawal of his candidacy.
He had filed his nomination to contest the Deputy General Secretary post independently after failing to be included in the panel led by Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
However, his candidacy for the post of open central member remains valid. The election for the new leadership of the UML is taking place today at Bhrikutimandap.
