Rabi Lamichhane Heads to Chitwan Again for Court Date
Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has departed for Chitwan again today for a scheduled date. According to his aide Abinash Acharya, Lamichhane will appear before the Chitwan District Court today.
Lamichhane, who was in talks with Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah until midnight last night, plans to return to Kathmandu immediately after reaching the Chitwan District Court. Following the Butwal High Court's order on Thursday to release him on bank guarantee, Lamichhane had earlier gone to Rupandehi to complete the paperwork.
Lamichhane was released after depositing a total of 2 crore 74 lakh 84 thousand rupees. On Thursday, a joint bench of Butwal High Court judges Basudev Acharya and Tejanarayan Paudel had overturned the Chitwan District Court's order of Saun 26, ordering his conditional release upon providing a bank guarantee of equal amount.
