The Party Will Move Forward by Prioritizing Organization, Struggle, Training, and Elections: Purna Basnet
Purna Basnet, Head of the Publicity and Publication Department of the People's Socialist Party (JSP) Nepal, has stated that the party will move forward by prioritizing organization, struggle, training, and elections in the current situation.
Following Dashain, the party plans to complete remaining tasks of the provincial conventions and national committees, form and deploy parliamentary constituency coordination committees and booth committees, and organize the remaining village/ward and neighborhood committees, Basnet said.
Similarly, at each booth level, volunteers will be prepared, trained, and deployed. Provincial and district committees will conduct public mobilization and grassroots organizational campaigns with upcoming elections in mind.
Party entry programs will be widely conducted, and affiliated social, professional, and fraternal organizations will be formed and deployed according to their requirements, Basnet added.
The party will also take issues such as constitutional amendments, population-based representation, identity, state restructuring, and the concerns of Madhesi, indigenous nationalities, Tharu, Muslim, Dalit, marginalized groups, women, and minority communities to the public. Local issues affecting daily life, corruption, poverty, unemployment, and social security will also be highlighted among the people.
According to Basnet, the party will present the 67-point demands and proposals previously submitted to the government to the public. It will also work to establish JSP Nepal’s policies, programs, and ideas among the masses through discussions, workshops, corner meetings, general assemblies, and demonstrations.
The party will continue its struggle to defend the federal democratic republic, and movement programs will be carried out continuously.
JSP Nepal has decided to provide training to provincial, national, district, and municipal committees. This includes specialized election-related training. Separate training arrangements will be made for fraternal organizations by the Training Department.
The party will give high priority to election-focused activities, including candidate selection, election campaigns, financial management, volunteer deployment, electoral training, voter awareness programs, and voter registration.
Provincial, national, district, municipal, and subordinate committees will prepare action plans and implement these programs, Basnet said.
Election-level data will be collected, and the positions of other parties will be analyzed continuously. Greater attention and deployment of resources will be focused on areas where party candidates have a higher chance of winning, with the party fully concentrated on securing victories.
