Government Committed Massacre: Purna Basnet

Purna Basnet, Head of the Publicity Department of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, has stated that the government has committed a massacre in the country. Basnet expressed regret over the brutal suppression of the Gen Z youth protests and demanded a strict investigation and action against the government officials responsible for the incident.

Basnet said, “The government has become cruel and ruthless toward the Gen Z youth who took to the streets to protest against corruption. KP Oli has become one of the most tainted and criminal rulers in history. He has lost both the legal and moral basis to lead the government. He must step down immediately.”

Basnet also alleged that KP Oli, with a criminal background, has been supported at times by Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to maintain his cruel rule.

He argued that from the Madhes movement, where 56 protesters were killed, to repeated dissolutions of parliament, and up to the horrific incidents that occurred on Monday, KP Oli’s authoritarianism, cruelty, and brutality have crossed all limits.

Basnet paid tribute to the Gen Z youth who were killed during Monday’s protest and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
