Purna Basnet Claims Gen-Z Movement Turned Their Voice Against Corruption into a Rebellion
Kathmandu: Purn Basnet, Head of the Publicity Department of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, has stated that the historic Gen-Z movement’s success should be followed by action against corrupt officials.
Basnet congratulated the newly appointed Prime Minister, Sushila Karki, and urged the government to take necessary steps to punish corruption. He said, “When corrupt leaders repeatedly held government positions, corruption was rewarded, frustrating the people.
The voice we raised against corruption has now turned into a rebellion through Gen-Z. This is a historic success against corruption, and we are partners in this campaign.”
He emphasized that the government should make no compromises in investigating and punishing corruption, and all Nepalis who want good governance should support this effort.
Basnet also demanded that the enormous wealth amassed through corruption by leaders and officials should be nationalized and used for the country’s prosperity.
He warned that if political parties fail to reform themselves, they will eventually perish.
