Bharat Khadka Unanimously Elected as Chairperson of Public Accounts Committee
Kathmandu: Bharat Khadka has been unanimously elected as the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee under the House of Representatives. A meeting of the committee held on Friday unanimously elected Khadka, a Member of Parliament from the Nepali Congress, to the position.
Elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly from Doti-1 'A' in the 2074 B.S elections, he became a central member of the Congress through a special convention. After receiving a ticket from President Gagan Thapa in the last election, Khadka was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in the election held on March 5.
In a conversation with media personnel after being elected as Chairperson, he expressed his commitment to leading the committee in a way that maintains economic good governance and financial discipline to the best of his past experience and qualifications.
He assured that the irregularities of the past would not be repeated.
He stated, "I will move this committee forward to maintain economic good governance and financial discipline using my past experience and qualifications for the responsibility I have received. There are some past irregularities, but they are not going to be repeated." He mentioned that he has taken economic good governance and financial discipline as his primary agenda.
