Protests Continue Against the Arrest of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli
Kathmandu: Protests against the arrest of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli continue today, Monday. Leaders and cadres of the UML gathered at Maitighar on Monday to demonstrate against the government.
They are protesting to demand the release of Chairman Oli. UML workers gathered at Maitighar stated that Oli was arrested out of revenge. Leader Karna Thapa, who participated in the movement, expressed that a government has arrived that seeks vengeance against the UML, and that the public mandate has been misused.
He said, "A government has come to take revenge against our leaders or party. This government received public support by talking about the rule of law and good governance, but after getting the people's votes, it seems they believe they can do whatever they want."
Participants also demanded an impartial investigation into the Prime Minister and the newly elected Home Minister, Sudan Gurung, accusing them of destroying government structures and inciting Gen Z.
