Prime Minister Shah to Hold Discussions with Construction Entrepreneurs Today

Prime Minister Balendra Shah is holding a discussion with construction entrepreneurs today regarding the problems seen in the construction sector, solutions, practical challenges faced by the construction business, and policy facilitations required from the government.

Officials and representatives of the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN) will participate in the discussion, which is scheduled to take place at 11:30 AM this morning at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

FCAN President Nicolas Pandey, Senior Vice President Mukesh Panta, General Secretary Shivahari Ghimire, Bagmati Province Vice President Balkrishna Thapa, and former President and Advisor of the Federation, Jayaram Lamichhane, are scheduled to attend the meeting.

For a long time, the construction sector has been raising issues such as delays in payment, contract management, problems arising from cost escalation, and legal and policy complexities. Today’s discussion is expected to facilitate a direct dialogue between the government and construction entrepreneurs on these very issues.

The meeting is also expected to yield conclusions regarding policy reforms to ease the construction sector, measures to remove obstacles in the implementation of development projects, and ways to strengthen coordination between the government and the private sector.
