Prime Minister Oli Announces Doubling of Health Insurance Coverage
Kathmandu, July 10 — Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has announced the government’s decision to double the treatment support provided under the health insurance scheme for patients suffering from eight types of complex and severe diseases. The assistance amount, which was previously capped at NPR 100,000, has now been increased to NPR 200,000.
Sharing the information through social media today, PM Oli wrote, “Patients with complicated diseases who were previously receiving one lakh rupees for treatment will now be eligible to receive two lakh rupees from the government.”
This expansion of the health insurance scheme is expected to provide much-needed relief to patients who struggle to afford medical care due to financial constraints.
