President Paudel's Message on Prithvi Narayan Shah's Birth Anniversary

Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the teachings of Prithvi Narayan Shah can serve as a guide for promoting national unity. 

On the occasion of the 304th birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the leader of the Nepal unification campaign, the President stated that his teachings help in building a strong economy, fostering patriotism, and establishing diplomatic relations with neighboring countries. 

He added that these principles also guide the protection of religion, culture, and tradition, as well as public welfare, state responsibility, justice, and good governance.

He said, "When we remember Prithvi Narayan Shah, we see that he established national independence and a shared identity for modern Nepal by unifying the country. His divine counsels are still popular and relevant today. 

They provide guidance for building a strong economy, patriotism, diplomatic ties with neighbors, protecting culture, ensuring public welfare, justice, and promoting national unity."

Similarly, he mentioned that because brave ancestors continued this mission, we can take pride in a sovereign and independent Nepal today. 

He explained that based on this foundation, the constitution has established Nepal as an independent, indivisible, sovereign, secular, inclusive, and socialism-oriented federal democratic republic.

He further stated, "Prithvi Narayan Shah created the modern nation of Nepal by unifying many small scattered states. Because our brave ancestors continued that campaign through different periods of history, we are able to be proud of a sovereign and independent Nepal today. 

Standing on this ground, we have made constitutional arrangements for Nepal as an independent, indivisible, sovereign, secular, inclusive, and federal democratic republic based on democracy and socialism."
