President Paudel Attends Maha Shivaratri and Nepal Army Day Celebrations

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel attended a special ceremony organized by the Nepal Army at Sainik Manch, Tundikhel, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri and the 263rd anniversary of the establishment of the Nepal Army. President Paudel, accompanied by First Lady Sabita Paudel, participated in the parade and military skills exhibition 2082 held on Sunday morning.

On the occasion, the Nepal Army offered a guard of honor to President Paudel, who is the Supreme Commander of the Nepal Army. He laid a wreath at the military memorial located there. During the ceremony, the army showcased various attractive tactical skills, marches, and diverse arts, dances, and musical tunes reflecting traditional attire. President Paudel also released the "Sipahi" magazine published by the Nepal Army and presented awards to outstanding individuals in the exhibition.

During the program, the Nepal Army displayed vehicles, equipment, and weapons used in peacekeeping missions. The event also featured a march-past at the pavilion and the dropping of flower petals from helicopters. Furthermore, a Maha Shivaratri salute and an impressive parade were performed with rifles and cannons.

At the ceremony, President Paudel presented gifts to the band team leaders from friendly nations including India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The event was attended by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, heads and representatives of various diplomatic missions in Nepal, the Chief of Army Staff, heads of security agencies, high-ranking government officials, and distinguished personalities from various sectors of society.
