Preparations Underway to Build a Modern Stadium with 50,000 Seating Capacity in Bhaktapur: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced that preparations are underway to construct a modern stadium with a seating capacity of 50,000 in Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur.

Sharing the information on his official Facebook page on Sunday, Oli stated that as the scope of sports in Nepal is expanding, the existing Dasharath Stadium has become too small. Therefore, discussions have been held with officials from the Suryabinayak Municipality, the National Sports Council (NSC), and the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), he added.

Oli wrote: “As our sports sector continues to expand, the Dasharath Stadium is no longer sufficient. We are now planning to build a modern stadium in Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur. Today, we held discussions with officials from the Suryabinayak Municipality, the National Sports Council, and the All Nepal Football Association regarding this. Important talks were held on land acquisition and other related matters for the stadium, which will be built in Jagati, Suryabinayak, with a capacity of 50,000 spectators.”

According to the post, the discussions also covered feasibility assessments and initial preparations for the infrastructure.
