27th General Assembly of Prashansa Protection Group Concludes
                                                                                                            Kathmandu – Hari Prasad Awasthi has been elected as the chairperson of the social organization Prashansa Group, established with the core principle “Service is religion, unity is strength.”
The 27th General Assembly, held yesterday in Kathmandu, elected an 11-member new executive committee under Awasthi’s leadership. Mohan Singh Etwal was elected as Vice-Chairperson, Shyam Ojha as General Secretary, Dambar Kumari Regmi as Secretary, and Kamala Bhatta Pokharel as Treasurer.
The committee members include Dr. Laxmiraj Pathak, Harimohan Bhandari, Ramesh Bhatta, Jwala Bishta, and Bhubaneshwari Bhandari. According to election committee member Uddhav Bogati, the outgoing chairperson will remain as second in seniority in the committee.
A three-member election committee, chaired by Netra Bahadur Shahi and including Indu Bhatta and Uddhav Bogati, was formed to conduct the election. The tenure of the new executive committee will be three years.
Prior to the assembly, Chairperson Hari Prasad Awasthi presented the progress report of Prashansa Group, and Treasurer Bisheshwari Upreti presented the organization’s financial report.
Founding Chairperson Ambadatt Bhatta welcomed and introduced the new members, including Tikaram Bhatta, Netra Bahadur Shahi, Tilak Bhatta, Chandrakant Pandit, Indu Bhatt, Lalita Thakulla, Bhagarathi Bishta, and Basanti Bhatta.
Membership is granted only to those who have worked in a society formed under the organization for at least two years, and those meeting this criterion were accepted as members.
Prashansa, meaning the Group for the Protection of Nature, Culture, and Social Values, was established in 1998 (B.S. 2055) with the objective of building a prosperous society characterized by mutual cooperation, understanding, love, and goodwill, as well as honesty, character, and cultural refinement.
Prashansa Protection Group is a non-governmental organization. It has consistently promoted cultural development, environmental protection, and social values while advocating for a progressive society.
The organization also raises concerns related to the Far-Western region and actively contributes to its cultural development.
The organization encourages all cultural communities to publicly celebrate their festivals, such as the Gaura festival, at Kathmandu’s Khula Manch.
