Young Cricketer Upendra Rai from Saptari Passes Away

Kathmandu — Talented cricket player and skilled all-rounder from Saptari district, Upendra Rai, has prematurely passed away. Expressing deep grief over his passing, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has extended its condolences.

In a condolence statement issued by CAN, it was stated that the news of Rai's passing has left the Nepal cricket family deeply shocked and heartbroken. CAN wished for eternal peace for the departed soul and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

"The news of the untimely demise of Upendra Rai, a skilled all-rounder and talented cricket player from Saptari district, has deeply shocked and saddened the Cricket Association of Nepal family," the statement released by CAN reads.

Rai was known as a rising cricket player in Saptari. He had showcased his talent through outstanding performances in various district and regional level tournaments.

Stating that Nepali cricket has lost a talented young player with his passing, various personalities from the cricket community and sports enthusiasts have been offering tributes via social media. In this painful moment, CAN offered its respects to the late Rai and wished for strength for his family to bear the loss.
