Pradeep Gyawali Appeals to Elect KP Sharma Oli’s Team in UML Leadership Vote

Kathmandu: CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali has stood in support of Chairman KP Sharma Oli. Voting for the new leadership is taking place from 3 PM on Tuesday at the closing session of the 11th National Congress of UML.

In this election, Gyawali has appealed to the delegates to unite and ensure the victory of the entire team led by Chairman Oli.

On Monday, after Oli reappointed Shankar Pokhrel as General Secretary, Gyawali, who had ambitions for the General Secretary post, had expressed dissatisfaction with Oli.

However, today, through social media, he appealed to ensure Oli’s side wins with a massive vote, not just for the internal life of UML, but also for the challenging national political scenario.

He stated that the continuity of Oli’s leadership is indispensable to move the party forward on the path of ideological clarity, organizational strength, and political stability.

He wrote, “Today, the most important and decisive moment of the UML, the voting for the new leadership, is taking place. I earnestly appeal to all comrades to ensure that the entire team led by Comrade KP Sharma Oli is victorious with a grand vote, which will have far-reaching significance not only for the internal life of CPN-UML but also for the challenging national political scenario.”

Additionally, he informed that he is a candidate for the party’s Central Committee member post and expressed confidence in winning both the hearts and votes of the delegates.

“I am always among you, and I will remain so,” he added. “This time, I have filed my candidacy for the Central Committee member post and have full confidence of receiving both the hearts and votes from the comrades.”
