Prachanda Elected as Parliamentary Party Leader of Nepali Communist Party

Kathmandu. The parliamentary party meeting of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has elected former Prime Minister and party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as the leader of the parliamentary party.

Ramesh Malla, a leader of the party, stated that the meeting held at Paris Danda on Sunday elected him unanimously.

He said, "The party's first parliamentary party meeting was held today. The meeting has unanimously elected party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as the leader of the parliamentary party. The meeting presented a congratulatory motion to the party leader, which was passed unanimously."

In the recently concluded House of Representatives elections, the Nepali Communist Party secured 17 seats, with 8 from direct elections and 9 through the proportional representation system.
