Prachanda Advocates for Election as the Best Way Forward
Kathmandu: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), has stated that elections are the most suitable option to resolve the country’s current political situation.
Speaking at an event organized by the Independent Students' Union of Baneshwar Multiple campus, Dahal mentioned that the country is passing through a unique situation. The event was held to honor former student leaders, athletes, and welcome new students.
"I don't want to say much about the current political climate right now. Elections are approaching," Dahal said. "In the new situation following the 'Gen Z' movement, elections are the best way to move forward publicly and provide a smooth exit for the country. Choosing other paths could lead the nation into another disaster."
Dahal emphasized that the nation can only overcome its crisis through the collective efforts of the people, political parties, organizations, and journalists. He also clarified that it is everyone’s shared responsibility to free the country from the fear of potential chaos.
Highlighting the importance of youth and students, he added, "In the current state of the country, young students carry a huge responsibility.
The Gen Z movement was driven by the activity of the youth. While there was a belief that young people were losing interest in politics, this movement proved they are conscious and aware of the country's situation."
The program included honors for individuals who have contributed to various fields, a welcome ceremony for new students, and cultural performances.
