Kulman Ghising Says PR Candidates Are Not His Nephew or Father-in-law
Kathmandu — Energy Minister Kulman Ghising has strongly denied the ongoing claims that his relatives were included in the proportional representation candidate list for the upcoming election.
Making his statement public via social media, he clarified that the individuals referred to as his ‘vanja’ (nephew) and ‘sasura’ (father-in-law) are not related to him. The minister informed that the person labeled as ‘vanja’ was recommended by a different group, and he has no familial ties with the individual called ‘sasura.’
He further stated that the proportional representation list was prepared based on the party’s procedures, standards, and collective decision-making, not according to any individual’s wish or pressure.
Recalling that he has consistently stood against nepotism and favoritism since entering public life, he mentioned that the misleading claims were deliberately spread to tarnish his image.
Additionally, he assured that any technical errors appearing in the closed list would be corrected within the Election Commission’s deadline and urged everyone not to follow such misleading comments.
