Prime Minister Sushila Karki Pays Tribute to Martyrs

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has offered her heartfelt tributes to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for civil liberty, democracy, and justice.

Issuing a message on Friday, Prime Minister Karki also expressed her respect for the brave warriors who achieved martyrdom during the 'Gen Z movement,' which rose with the expectations of justice, equality, accountable governance, and a bright future.

"Heartfelt tributes to all the martyrs who offered their precious lives for civil liberty and democracy," she wrote. "Respect also to the brave warriors who achieved martyrdom in the Gen Z movement that rose in the hope of justice, equality, accountable governance, and a bright future."

According to Prime Minister Karki, the country stands at an historical turning point today due to the courage, consciousness, and resolve of those martyrs. She wished that no mother's lap should ever be emptied again and urged everyone to move toward building a peaceful, just, and inclusive society.

"Because of their courage, consciousness, and resolve, the country stands at an historical turning point today. May no mother's lap ever be emptied again," she said.

Stating that building a state based on governance values, morality, and respect for citizens is the primary responsibility of every ruler, she emphasized that governance should be conducted while keeping those values always in mind.
