Meeting Between Prime Minister and Durga Prasai: Follow-up Dialogue Scheduled for Thursday

KATHMANDU — A meeting has concluded between medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai and Prime Minister Sushila Karki. 

During the meeting, the Prime Minister presented Prasai with a portrait of Lord Gautam Buddha as a gift, while urging for the maintenance of peace in the country.

Sharing information about the meeting on social media, Prasai mentioned that this dialogue has brought the voice of common citizens into the halls of power. 

He stated that a referendum is a sovereign right of the people and asserted that the government must either accept the public's mandate as policy or face a protest movement.

According to Prasai, the discussions centered on the premise that the country should be run by the "people's order" rather than through "power-sharing agreements." A final round of talks between the two parties is scheduled for this coming Thursday.
