PM Karki: "I Became Prime Minister Due to Circumstances, Not Ambition"

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that she became Prime Minister due to circumstances rather than personal desire. Addressing a meeting of the National Assembly on Monday, she explained that she took the role to normalize the situation created by the Gen-Z movement, prevent further conflict in the country, stop the loss of life and property, and return the state to its constitutional course.

Prime Minister Karki said, "I have come to Parliament for the first time. This is not my wish, but a result of the circumstances. I became Prime Minister with the objective of normalizing the situation created by the Gen-Z movement, preventing further conflict, stopping the loss of life and property, and bringing the state back to its constitutional rhythm."

She mentioned that the House of Representatives has been dissolved and that the government is committed to conducting fair, independent, and credible elections on the scheduled date of Falgun 21, 2082. Prime Minister Karki also paid tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives during the Gen-Z movement and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.

Clarifying that she did not become Prime Minister out of any ruling ambition or greed for position, she stated that she took the responsibility of Prime Minister during these difficult circumstances to bring the disrupted constitutional system back on track and save the country from crisis.

She added, "I express my respect to the martyrs who lost their lives in the Gen-Z movement and offer my deep sorrow to their families. I did not become Prime Minister carrying any ruling ambition or out of greed for any position. I took the responsibility of Prime Minister in a difficult situation to bring the disrupted constitutional system back on track and to save the country from crisis."
