The State Must Mobilize Fund Money as Domestic Capital: PM Karki

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki stated that social justice is not possible without complete social security.

Addressing a ceremony organized on the occasion of Social Security Day on Thursday, Prime Minister Karki said that the effective implementation of contribution-based social security is essential to make social security inter-generational cost-balanced and equitable.

"While observing the responsibility of the changing role, it is evident that social justice is not possible without complete social security," she said.

"In a country like ours, the effective implementation of contribution-based social security is essential to make social security inter-generational cost-balanced and equitable.

Its successful implementation will lead to the creation of a productive society based on the principle of social solidarity, where the haves help the have-nots, and the rich help the poor."

Furthermore, she pledged that she would provide constructive cooperation to the efforts to make social security sustainable, regardless of the role she holds.

"I want to assure you that we will discuss how to provide a clear direction for the state to mobilize the fund's money as domestic capital with a fair return, thereby creating a sense of ownership among citizens towards the state and building an environment for addressing this," she said.

"I pledge that in whatever role I may be, I will provide constructive cooperation to your efforts to make social security sustainable," she added.
