Prime Minister Karki’s Call for Active Participation in Elections

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has called for active participation in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the nation on Monday, Prime Minister Karki urged voters to participate in the upcoming elections to lead the country toward political stability and prosperity.

She stated that casting a vote is not merely about stamping a ballot symbol to elect someone, but is also a decision regarding the kind of future one wants for themselves and their children.

On the eve of the election, Prime Minister Karki also requested everyone to maintain peace and order. She urged full adherence to discipline during the silence period and called for restraint and mutual respect during the remaining election campaigning period.

Stating that the Election Commission has completed all preparations according to the schedule within a short and challenging timeframe, Prime Minister Karki mentioned that the Government of Nepal and the Commission are fully committed to conducting the elections in a fair, clean, and fearless manner.

She informed that the government is monitoring and bringing within the scope of the law those elements attempting to disturb the environment by spreading baseless and artificial content, as well as misleading predictions, through social media and some mass media outlets.

Prime Minister Karki clarified that the government will not promote any form of impunity and maintained that the government will not back down from taking action at any level as required by law.

She also stated that the government is closely monitoring the developments in the Middle East and that the safety of Nepalis there is a matter of great concern.

She expressed that she has taken the responsibility of leading the country by assuming the role of Prime Minister at a difficult turning point in history as a duty toward her motherland.
