Filming of 'Paanch Pandav' Intensifies in Jhapa
Kathmandu. The movie 'Paanch Pandav,' which has been generating buzz due to its high investment and a gathering of renowned actors, is currently being filmed in full swing in Jhapa, eastern Nepal. Two weeks into the filming, the production side has added two more characters to the film's cast.
Versatile actor Prashant Tamrakar and popular content creator and model Eva Giri have joined this movie, which is being produced under the banner of Kali Rani Films.
Director Basanta Niraula informed that the canvas of the film has become even broader with them joining the set on the 14th day of filming.
The filming of this movie, which began with an auspicious ceremony (Muhurat) on March 15 in the Nepal-India border town of Kakarvitta, features a blend of veterans and popular new-generation actors of the Nepali cinema world.
Haribansha Acharya, Jitu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi, and Sagar Lamsal (Bale) are in the lead roles as the 'Paanch Pandav' (Five Pandavas).
Deepa Shree Niraula and Jani Gurung will appear as the lead female characters in the story woven around these five characters.
Writer Sushil Poudel clarified that although the movie is titled 'Paanch Pandav,' it is not a mythological or religious story but a complete 'social drama.' The film will present a story of contemporary Nepali society by using the characters and metaphors of the five Pandavas from the Mahabharata.
According to presenter Nabin Shrestha, no compromise has been made on the budget to make the film grand. "We have everyone from legendary actors like Haribansha Dai to the beloved actors of the new generation. We are confident that this will become the most awaited movie of the year," Shrestha said.
Nabin previously produced the movie 'Laaj Sharanam' last year.
Kali Rani Shrestha is producing the film. Most of the scenes of this movie, which has a 40-day filming schedule, will be shot in scenic and significant locations in Jhapa. Director Niraula stated that after finishing the Jhapa schedule, the team will travel to other locations.
Shyam Tamang is capturing the cinematography for this film, which has the story, screenplay, and dialogue by Sushil Poudel.
'Paanch Pandav' also appears set to be special technically. Audiences will get to experience high-quality 'Full Dolby Atmos' sound in this movie.
The production team stated that the sound design and mixing will be done at the state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos sound studio recently launched by Music Nepal.
Due to the acting of veteran artists, the social storyline, and the use of cutting-edge technology, 'Paanch Pandav' has already managed to earn significant buzz in cinema circles.
