Arghakhanchi: More than 7,000 signatures have been collected in Arghakhanchi in support of Rabi Lamichhane.
Hari Prasad Bhusal, a leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Arghakhanchi, stated that the signature campaign was launched to gather public support against the political revenge targeted at party president Rabi Lamichhane. He said the campaign has received positive responses across villages.
Bhusal, who visited villages with a team to understand public opinion at the grassroots level, shared three key observations from the campaign through social media. According to him, ordinary citizens in villages appear eager to support the RSP.
“Many were eagerly waiting for the signature campaign to begin. We received overwhelming interest and connection from the people. We have collected over 7,000 signatures across the district, with some ward-level reports still pending,” said Bhusal.
According to Bhusal, the village visits revealed the following three main aspects:
Three Key Findings from the Campaign:
1. Enthusiasm for Signatures:
Citizens were eager to sign in support of Rabi Lamichhane. As soon as the campaign teams reached the villages, local residents expressed happiness that the initiative had begun.
2. Continued Trust in the ‘Bell’ Symbol:
Voters who supported RSP's ‘bell’ symbol in the last election still seem to have faith in the party. Many continue to view the party as a viable alternative, Bhusal stated.
3. Dissatisfaction with Elected Representatives:
According to Bhusal, people expressed disappointment over the performance of some elected representatives at the local level. He claimed that the signature campaign provided an outlet for the public to voice their concerns.
Indication of Resource Constraints
Bhusal appealed to party supporters and well-wishers to contribute in any way—physically, mentally, or financially—to make the campaign more effective. Despite limited resources, he mentioned that public support has kept the campaign running.
Bhusal also extended thanks to local activists who assisted in the campaign and visits—Lila Batha, Bhumika Khatri, Umesh Banjade, Bishnu Bhusal, Bishnu Thapa, and Gopal Khanal. Additionally, he expressed special gratitude to the youth from Arghakhanchi currently in South Korea for arranging the sound system used in the campaign.
