Oli Stresses Need for Peace, Good Governance, and Development
Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has stated that it is necessary to ensure peace, good governance, and development in the country. Speaking at the declaration ceremony of the National Volunteer Force Koshi Unified Command, he mentioned that forces desiring peace, good governance, and development must pay special attention.
He also stated that if people rely solely on the state machinery and fail to understand the significance of manpower and the need to fight for their rights, then those rights cannot be secured.
He said, "CPN-UML wants peace in the country. UML puts the country first. To achieve good governance and development in the country, the democratic system and efforts under it must be moved forward.
If the people, patriotic forces, democratic forces, and progressive forces rely only on the state machinery—if those who want peace, good governance, and development rely only on the state machinery and do not understand the meaning of human resource and the fact that they must fight for their rights—then rights cannot be protected."
Additionally, he stated that CPN-UML is a party that seeks peace and prioritizes the nation. Recalling past violent incidents, he mentioned that houses, offices, the parliament building, and the Supreme Court were burned.
Recalling the past violence, he said, "Our houses, offices, parliament, and the Supreme Court were burned. Singha Durbar was attacked. Municipalities, village councils, industries, and employment opportunities were destroyed. Now, we will not allow anyone to do this. Attacks on the Supreme Court, police offices, or Singha Durbar will not be permitted."
