KP Sharma Oli Hails Nepal as a Cricket 'Rising Power'

Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has claimed that Nepal is now a "rising power" in cricket. Sending his best wishes via video to the Nepali players participating in the T20 World Cup, Oli stated that cricket is not just a sport, but also a symbol of Nepal's progress, identity, and self-respect.

He said, "I am feeling a bit emotional thinking about our Nepali players who have gone to Mumbai to play in the T20 World Cup. For us, cricket is not just a game; it is an identity of our progress and our pride. The conversations and interactions I had with the players at that time are still fresh in my mind. We must repay the hard work and sweat of the players by building infrastructure like stadiums and providing support."

Oli expressed confidence that the Nepali team, led by Rohit Paudel, would make the nation proud. He mentioned that the players have the support of Nepalis from Mechi to Mahakali, as well as those living abroad.

He said, "The support of all Nepalis, from Mechi to Mahakali and even those abroad, is with you. We are with you. No matter how strong the opponent is, you should not worry about them or let any kind of inferiority complex develop. You have the blood and confidence of Nepali youth within you. A series of rising heights is on your side."

Chairman Oli expressed belief that Nepal would set new records this time. He said, "The Nepali team under the leadership of dear Captain Rohit Paudel will set new records this time and hold Nepal's head high." He emphasized that while winning and losing are part of the game, players should enter the field with the sole intention of winning.
