K.P. Sharma Oli: Literature Should Be Purposeful, Not Just for Satisfaction
Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chairman K.P. Sharma Oli has stated that literature should not only be a source of satisfaction but must be purposeful for society and human life.
Addressing the 'Yugadoot' book launch program on Friday, he said that literature should not just serve as a mirror to society but also play a role in transforming it.
He remarked, "Literature is not merely for satisfaction. Literature should be purposeful for society and for human life. Literature doesn't only act as a mirror to society; it goes beyond that and works towards the transformation of society. It acts as a guide for society."
Furthermore, he said that thought and ideas show the way to society, noting that the world's various revolutions have had literary figures, writers, and composers as their inspirers. He opined that literature that is beneficial to society and truly offers positive support is the need of the hour. He urged people to bring out their experiences and literary talent.
