KP Sharma Oli Expresses Concern Over Country's Political Situation

Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has expressed serious concern over the current political situation of the country. Speaking at a Secretariat meeting on Tuesday, Chairman Oli stated that the environment for holding immediate elections has not yet been created.

According to him, as the UML and Congress move closer together, the government and certain foreign powers appear to be plotting to postpone the elections or divide them into different phases.

He mentioned that continuous pressure and threats are being directed at Supreme Court judges to prevent the restoration of Parliament, which he said raises serious questions about democratic values.

Chairman Oli claimed that protecting Nepal's existence and national integrity is becoming more challenging, and foreign interference is becoming clearly visible.

In this situation, he emphasized that the party must move forward with a strong protest movement and called for the active involvement of youth at every level. He stated that a 'National Youth Volunteers Force' should be formed in every neighborhood to start election preparations from the ground.

Chairman Oli also accused some individuals of intentionally playing a destructive role and being involved in fraud, corruption, and working as agents for foreign powers. He commented that there is a conspiracy to defame nationalist forces by carrying out foreign agendas in the name of development, and that incompetent or corrupt individuals are being gathered systematically.

However, Oli said that because the patriotism of the Nepali people is strong, those groups did not have the courage to claim the events that happened in Bangladesh on Bhadra 23 and 24 as a "great achievement" in Nepal.

He concluded that those responsible for trying to destroy the country will eventually have to take the blame.
