National Assembly MPs Urge Government to Ensure Election Safety in Jhapa-5
All eyes are currently focused on Jhapa-5, the constituency where KP Oli and Balen Shah are expected to contest the election. As Jhapa-5 has become the primary epicenter of this election, efforts have already begun to draw the government's attention toward potential clashes and the necessary precautions that must be adopted.
Meanwhile, members of the National Assembly have alerted the government regarding security for the House of Representatives elections. Speaking during the zero hour of Monday's National Assembly meeting, members raised various issues, including Nepalis who lost their lives abroad, the freezing of development budgets, and inflation control.
MPs Nar Bahadur Bista and Suresh Kumar Ale Magar emphasized that all political parties must be responsible for ensuring a free, fair, and impartial election. MP Bista specifically urged the government to remain alert in time regarding the risk of potential conflict and clashes, particularly in the Jhapa district.
