Left Parties Join Hands Again: Oli and Dahal Plan to Work Together

While the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is gaining popularity across the country, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal are showing signs that they are ready to work together again. After getting poor results in the recent elections, both leaders are preparing to forget their past fights. They plan to cooperate in parliament, in public protests, and at the local level. Both parties now believe that dividing the communist votes hurt them in the election, so they are quickly talking and planning to work together.

At a recent event, Dahal said that communist groups in the country are starting to unite and work together again. He also claimed they would cooperate with the UML in parliament, on the streets, and in local government. Last week, during a meeting of UML leaders, Oli also said it is necessary to work with other parties like the CPN. He mentioned that the government is acting against the UML, pointing out that Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel was arrested under the name of an investigation. Because of this, Oli spoke about why communist unity is important right now.
