No New Party for Balen Shah: Kathmandu Mayor Commits to Completing Term
KATHMANDU— Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has put an end to speculation regarding his national political future, announcing he will not form a new political party.
The Mayor confirmed his decision to complete his current term as Kathmandu Mayor and will not be contesting the upcoming election scheduled for (Falgun 21).
The announcement resolves the ongoing public discussion about the independent mayor potentially entering active national politics by either forming a new political force or joining an existing one.
Shah stated that he will instead lend his support to parties or candidates who champion the Gen-Z movement’s agenda and operate within the constitutional framework.
